 Interview

What is the hardest part of writing your books?
Definitely making the time to write. I have a full-time marketing career, a part-time coaching career, two kids, and a very active social life. Making the time to write is always a challenge.

What songs are most played on your Ipod?
Haha, I have such an eclectic music taste. Right now, probably “Forty Six & 2” by Tool, “Empty” by Ray LaMontagne, “L.A. Woman” by the Doors, and “Stubborn Love” by The Lumineers.

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?
I don’t. I should! But I don’t. Mostly just friends and family. And my editor, of course.

What book are you reading now?
Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom by John O’Donahue. I have been on a non-fiction spree for quite some time. The last fiction I read was To Tame a Land by legendary Western writer Louis L’Amour.

How did you start your writing career?
I wanted to write a book, so I wrote one. It was as simple as that. I had thought about writing that first book for years. But really, it was just a decision. I decided to start. And once I acted on that decision, it all began. I finished Defending Wellton and self-published it. From there, I did virtual book tours, book signings, and town visits. None of it happened to me. I had to go out and make it happen.

I’m taking a hiatus at the moment while I focus on my life coaching career and holding speaking workshops. I think my next book will be about meditation. I touch on it in The First Few Steps, but it can definitely be a whole book in itself.
