Blog Tour: Jagged Little Lies

Addiction Fiction

Date Published: 1/6/2014

Susan’s life was beyond broken, it was over. There was nothing left but a hollowed out empty spot she used to call her family. Dick, her husband, left and her beloved son Declan was in jail. All she’d ever wanted was to have a happy family. What happened? Where did she go wrong? Her days were spent consumed in misery, wondering. Restless in spirit, bitter and resentful, the ache became unbearable. Her only relief came in the form of a tiny little tablet.

Miranda met the love of her life. Declan. He was gorgeous, sweet, and charming. His smile lit up the room and stole her heart. He was the best thing to ever happen to her. Trouble was - he was also the worst. Without him she was halved, with him, she might end up in jail. On the verge of bankruptcy and being fired, Miranda wonders if she’ll ever be able to tell the truth again.

Declan stared up at the ceiling thinking. He needed more dope and soon. The prison bars he was trapped behind closed with a final clang. The sound reverberated through his jaw and down his back. It echoed down the miles of endless hallways. His bowels quivered and nausea churned. Yup, he was going to need something fast. He counted the hours trying to calculate how long before he’d be writhing on the floor. Six, at the most, but he could already feel it begin.

Lyndsey, who never believed in fairy tales, pinched herself. She couldn’t have dreamed this big. Her life in recovery was more than one she’d ever dared to hope for. When you’ve been on the verge of death, and live to tell about it, life could be so very sweet. No longer hopeless or living in despair, Lyndsey makes it her life’s purpose to help others. But will they listen to her?

Review

Dark, Gritty, and Real. Lorelie Rozzanno pulls no punches when it comes to telling the story of these characters.

She proves that she really understands the realm of addiction and all of the ins and outs of how it affects the addicted, their family, and others around it. This novel, while being fiction, really feels authentic.

We get to visit Lyndsey again, but I really enjoyed the addition of the other characters. Everyone has their own hardships and stories to tell.

People from all walks of life who all succumb to an addiction. This is an amazingly enlightening series on the world of addiction.

Lorelie Rozzano is an author who has taken her own life experiences shackled by the chains of addiction and is turning it into a series of fictional novels that weave in first- hand experience into compelling stories. The first in the series Jagged Little Edges was released as an e reader January 17th, 2013.
Lorelie is also a mother, stepmother, grandmother, family counselor, foster parent and small business owner. She is married and has made it her life’s mission to help others recover from the bleak holds of addiction. She has worked at a local treatment center for the past 15 years.  A twelve step program taught her how not to take a drink. Spirituality taught her how to live. She is a passionate and enthusiastic speaker. One who has traveled a long and windy road, often pitted with shame, hopelessness and despair. And she is not afraid to share her own personal story, in hopes that others too will begin their own healing process.
Her key to success? Attitude. “There is no one holding me back but me. And fear will never dictate my choices again. What inspires me most is when people get real. I love it when we take off our masks. That’s when change really begins to happen.”
